Microsoft Excel Integration

This scenario variant describes how business experts can run complex analyses on BI data and use Microsoft Excel functions at the same time. The Business Explorer Analyzer, which is a design and analysis tool embedded in Microsoft Excel, is available for this purpose. With the BEx Analyzer, BI data can be presented and analyzed interactively in workbooks.

The workbooks that are created can be saved in favorites or made available to other users using the role concept.

Workbooks can also be precalculated and sent by e-mail to make them available to other user groups. Information broadcasting functions are used for this purpose.

Set standard workbook	In the BEx Analyzer, you can configure a standard workbook on the BI server. The standard workbook is the workbook in which queries are opened. You can adapt a workbook and the associated worksheets individually as needed. To do this, use the functions in Microsoft Excel or the BEx Analyzer design and set the standard workbook for any queries that are opened afterwards. For more information, see Global Settings.
Set BEx theme	BEx themes are common services in the Business Explorer Suite that provide the format definition for workbooks. In the BEx Analyzer, they are based on the format definition of Microsoft Excel and include formatting information, such as background color, font and font size. Administration of Adobe document services	So that users can create a print version of the data in the form of a PDF file, you have to configure and manage Adobe document services. For more information, see Adobe Document Services Configuration Guide. Troubleshooting

In the BEx Analyzer, you can record traces to analyze problems in workbooks. The recorded traces help to resolve problems that you report to SAP as customer messages.
