Since different departments work with the same article, but each department uses different information on the article, the data in an article master record is subdivided by user department.

The article master contains the following user departments:

The following information is always displayed at the top of the data screen for each user department:

• Article number
• Article description
• Article category

You must always enter data for the user department Basic Data before all others.

It is useful to maintain the user department Listing before entering data for the following user departments:

• Sales
• Logistics: distribution centers
• Logistics: stores
• POS
