Background documentation Availability Monitoring in the Central Monitoring System Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

GRMG availability monitoring is divided into the monitoring of the individual scenarios and the monitoring of components that are assigned to these scenarios. The availability is displayed in the CCMS Alert Monitor (transaction RZ20).

The GRMG scenario is created by the agent as a monitoring structure in the SAP J2EE Monitor Templatesmonitor set using the name that you entered in the Monitor Service ® GRMG Customizing under scendesc. The predefined default name is built as follows: GRMG: J2EE <sid> on <Host>.

The following subtrees are displayed under the name of the engine that is monitored:

·        Subtree for self-monitoring of the scenario

The system displays here whether the scenario is running. The components involved can be monitored and displayed only if this is running error-free.

In the example in the figure below, an error has occurred in the scenario J2EE_630 005. Since this scenario has been newly created and was not previously monitored, no components are being monitored in the corresponding tree.

·        Subtree for the components monitored by the scenario

If a scenario is running error-free, the components monitored by the scenario are displayed. In the graphic below, the monitoring of the scenario J2EE_630 004 is running without errors. The monitored components are therefore displayed below the node for self-monitoring of the scenario. For each monitored component, the monitor displays the availability as a percentage, by default averaged over the last 15 minutes, and the status with status messages that are returned by the GRMG application. To display the messages in the alert monitor, choose the Details button.

If an error occurred in the scenario J2EE_630 004, the scenario would become red and the subtrees for the monitored components would appear highlighted in white.
