Function documentation Entering Competitor Prices Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use this function to generate price entry lists for various competitors, articles and organizational levels (distribution chain, price list, site). You can then print these out and send them to those stores in your company that are responsible for entering competitor prices. When you adopt and activate the competitor prices in the price entry lists created in the system, they are posted as condition records and can thus be used in sales price calculations to define sales prices.

Prerequisites

The Customizing and master data settings described in Functional Prerequisites for Competitor Prices must be maintained.

Features

Generating price entry lists

You use the Competitor price entry function to generate price entry lists.

Here, you can select various competitors or competitor groups, and articles or assortments. You can also enter the different organizational levels (distribution chain, price list and site), for which the competitor prices are to be valid.

Note

You can use Classification in the customer master to group competitors in competitor groups.

You can enter a store to be responsible for entering the competitor prices. This is displayed as a suggested value in the header data of the individual price entry lists contained in the competitor price entry function, and can be changed there if necessary.

A price entry list is created for every competitor and entry site. This means that if you have entered more than one competitor on the selection screen, a price entry list is generated for each of them.

When you save, all the information on competitor price entry is stored in a document and can be selected later using the document number.

You can print out the price lists to send them to your stores.

For further information, see Creating and Printing Price Entry Lists.

Transferring competitor prices to the system

You can transfer the competitor prices to the system manually. For further information, see Entering and Activating Competitor Prices.

When you activate the competitor price entry, the competitor prices are saved as condition records in condition tables.

Note

Three condition tables are supplied as standard. These tables contain condition records for competitor prices and correspond to the organizational levels for which separate sales prices can be created (distribution chain, price list, site). These condition tables use the following keys to access the data:

The access sequence determines which condition record is accessed. As a general rule, the more specific condition record is accessed first (for example, a site-specific sales price will be accessed before a sales price at distribution chain level.) The access sequence VKPM is supplied as standard.

You can also create your own condition tables.

In the sales price calculation function, you can display or change the competitor prices created in the system. You can also use them to generate a suggested price.

For further information, see Competitor Prices in Sales Price Calculations.
