Background documentation InfoPackage -> Data Transfer Process Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Description

In the new data flow, the InfoPackage loads to the PSA only. Data transfer processes (DTPs) are responsible for data distribution in BI; you create DTPs to transfer data between persistent objects.

General Practices with Migration

When you switch to the new data flow and migrate the 3.x DataSource, existing InfoPackages for this 3.x DataSource are copied to the migrated DataSource with the previously loaded requests. Exceptions are DB Connect and UD Connect DataSources. Since the switch involves a copy, new InfoPackages have to be created for these DataSources. After migration, only the information about how data is loaded into the PSA is used in the InfoPackages. Data processing options are no longer available. The data transfer processes for further distribution of the data in BI must be created.
