Guided Procedures 

First Steps

Guided Procedures (CAF-GP) is part of the SAP Composite Application Framework and a key capability of the usage type EP (Enterprise Portal). Within the Enterprise Portal, Guided Procedures provides a framework which you can use to create, model and manage workflows. Guided Procedures also allows you to access various backend systems by combining different types of services and applications. CAF-GP supports the collaboration capabilities of SAP NetWeaver, ad-hoc items, and, with its interactive forms, offline task management.

This section provides information on the administration and maintenance of CAF-GP in the usage type EP, on the various administrative tasks and the relevant tools.

Prerequisites

The required system components must be installed and configured. For information on this, see the Master Guide of the usage type EP.

Tools

You use the following tools to administer and monitor Guided Procedures:

Tasks

The administration and maintenance tasks for Collaboration are performed either when required or at regular intervals. The following task groups might occur:

·        Monitoring

This comprises specific monitoring functions for process flows and applications under Guided Procedures. In addition, you can use the general monitor and log applications of the Portal.

·        Administration

This comprises functions which you can use to manage the process flows and applications under Guided Procedures in production mode, and adjust them to the current company-specific needs.

·        Software Logistics

This comprises special functions which support you with:

¡        Setting up the software landscapes

¡        Maintaining your software

¡        Localization and rollout

¡        Integration of third-party products

·        Troubleshooting

This comprises functions to check critical settings in the area of Guided Procedures, and to report any problems that might occur.
