Function documentation Enhanced Inbound PRICAT Processing Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function allows you to process incoming PRICAT messages, add or change data as necessary, and post this data to your system.

Prerequisites

·        You have decided to use transaction W_PRICAT_MAINTAIN rather than transaction PRICAT. For more information, see Inbound Processing of PRICAT Messages.

·        You are using IDoc PRICECATALOGUE02.

·        You have defined the global location number (GLN) of the sender for the vendor, and have also included the vendor in the Customizing table. Optionally, you have chosen to define both a reference purchasing organization and a purchasing group.

·        Optionally, you have assigned the merchandise categories in the PRICAT message to the corresponding SAP merchandise categories.

·        Optionally, you can assign purchasing groups to selected merchandise categories.

·        Optionally, you have defined tax and/or price update options.

·        Optionally, you have determined which fields are available for each vendor and/or merchandise category.

·        Optionally, you have created different profiles that specify which fields the system is to display. You can select these profiles in processing.

·        Optionally, you have defined fixed values for fields that the system is to use for each vendor and/or merchandise category.

·        Optionally, you have defined whether the system is to transfer articles for each vendor and/or merchandise category automatically.

Features

·        You can use IDoc PRICECATALOGUE02 or BAPI PRICECATALOGUE, method SAVEREPLICA to import master data to the catalog tables. In doing so, the system enhances the data to allow an article to be updated at a later date.

The system does the following during the import:

¡        It determines a characteristic profile for characteristics.

¡        It determines the relevant article number for a previously assigned EAN.

¡        It determines the relevant generic article number for a subsequent variant. It uses VENDOR_SATNR in structure WRF_PRICAT_K003_EXT_STY, segment E1BPPAREX to determine the generic article involved.

·        You can compare the data contained in the catalog tables with the reference article, a fixed value, or the previously saved article. For each field, you can decide whether the field value is a fixed value, whether it is taken from the catalog data, or from a reference article or article.

·        The interface provides the following functions:

¡        Catalog data and associated master data can be displayed together in transaction W_PRICAT_MAINTAIN. When you save, the system creates or changes the corresponding master data (for example, single article and generic article).

¡        The system displays connected EANs for a generic article at the same time.

¡        You can use the hotspots displayed in the tables to branch to lower hierarchy levels or other transactions (for example, master data maintenance).

¡        You can use Mass Maintenance to edit selected lines and columns at the same time.

¡        You can use the Generic Article/BOM pushbutton to select all the EANs that belong to an article.

·        The system performs the following functions during the update:

¡        It creates or changes article data (single and generic articles and BOMs).

¡        It updates the purchasing prices and sales prices to the tables selected in Customizing.

¡        It creates or changes purchasing data.

Note

You have limited scope for changing generic articles. The same restrictions apply as for the manual article change function.
