As mentioned under Technical System Landscape, the XML DAS is part of the JAVA stack of the SAP Web Application Server and serves both ABAP and JAVA XML-based archiving scenarios.
To be able to use the XML DAS and the XML DAS Administration, you must carry out several configuration steps. These steps differ for ABAP and JAVA and are described in detail in separate configuration guides available in the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com) under /instguidesNW2004s.
The configuration for the JAVA scenario takes place in the following steps:
· Creating a Directory or Collection
· Creating users
· Creating a destination
· Configuring the XML Data Archiving Service
