Notational Conventions 

All syntactic specifications in this document are described in a variant of the augmented Backus-Naur Form (BNF) similar to that used by RFC 2616 / RFC 822. The augmented BNF includes the following basic constructs:

<name> = <definition>

The name of the rule is simply the name itself in enclosed in “<” and “>” in cursive letters

Literal or “literal”

Literal text is given in typewriter letters that may be additionally enclosed in quotation marks for emphasis.

<rule1> | <rule2>

Elements separated by a bar (“|”) are alternatives, e.g., “yes” | “no”
