Date Eligibility
This section describes the date eligibility feature in the Configurator.
Date eligibility defines when and for how long certain actions, for example, sales or discounts, are in effect. You can define any number of date eligibility rules, and once defined it is used in any of the following:
a User-Defined Function (date eligibility rule is specified in the UDF configuration component).
the sale or return of a particular merchandise item.
the sale or return of a particular non-merchandise item (date eligibility rule is specified in the Non-Merchandise configuration component)
the application of a discount rule (date eligibility rule is specified in the Discount configuration component)
the application of a mix-match discount rule (date eligibility rule is specified in the Mix-Match Rules table)
Note
Apply only one rule at a time to any of the actions listed above, however, you can refine any rule by adding numerous levels of criteria.
A date eligibility rule consists of no allowable periods of time, or can consist of several allowable periods of time in the same rule. You can define the time period in any of these formats:
Date range (consists of the start date and time and the end date and time)
Weekday range (consists of the start day and time and the end day and time)
Daily time range (consists of the start and end times)
These time periods define rules that control the timing and duration of events
Action (such as a sale) that occurs all day every day beginning May 1, 2003 at noon and continuing through May 14, 2003 at noon
Restriction of an action for all weekends in the month of June between the hours of 11:00 and 13:00 only.
You create new date eligibility rules in the Functions component of the Configurator. To implement a defined date eligibility rule, you must reference it in the appropriate component configuration window for the action to set a time limit for (UDF, Discount, or Non-Merchandise).
