There are six access types that groups of individuals are granted.

Note Note

There are separate permissions for POS Manager controlling such operations as Tender Management transactions, File Maintenance, and Employee Maintenance. Permission IDs and Actions are self-explanatory. POS Manager WKFs (well-known functions) only have None or Full access.

End of the note.

The following are access types that are applied to permission groups:

  • None — the users do not have any kind of access; they cannot grant permission to another user

  • Override — the users do not have access unless another user with Confirm, Password, or Fullaccess grants it to them by identifying themselves with their user ID and password. They cannot grant permission to another user with Confirm or Overrideaccess

  • Confirm — the users only have access once another user with Confirm, Password, orFull access grants them access by identifying themselves with their user ID and password. They can grant permission to another user with Confirm or Overrideaccess

  • Password — the users have access once the same user confirms their identity by reentering their password. They can also grant permission to another user with Confirm orOverride access

  • Y/N Confirmation

  • Full — the users always have access without any further checking. They can also grant permission to another user with Confirm or Override access

If you have Confirm access you are able to grant permission to another user withOverride or Confirm access. If you have Overrideaccess only, you cannot grant any kind of permission to another user. Employees in one store location may not have the same permissions in other store locations.

Note Note

Permission for one application is not considered the same as permission for another application, even if they have the same permission ID and actions. You can perform actions in one application, but in another application not have permission or have permission only with Confirm orOverride privileges.

End of the note.
