Creating a Search Index for Enterprise WorkspacesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

This section describes how to create a new KM (Knowledge Management) index for enterprise workspaces.

Prerequisites

You have completed the configuration steps described in: Configuring KM Search for Enterprise Workspaces.

Procedure
  1. In the portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step System Configuration Next navigation step Knowledge Management Next navigation step Index Administration End of the navigation path.

  2. Choose Create.

  3. Create a new index as follows:

    Value

    Comments

    ID

    workspaces_search_index_<unique identifier>

    For example, using the machine name and date stamp:

    workspaces_search_index_102_05102010

    Service

    Select a search engine

    For example: Trex Search

    Items to Index

    Select a value:

    • Documents

    • Folders

    • All

    queryExtender

    com.sap.workspaces.km.search.WorkspacesQueryExtender

    Add this as a custom property

  4. Choose Create Index.

  5. Choose Data Sources.

  6. Choose Add to add the enterprise workspaces Web repository.

  7. Select workspaces_search_web_repository and choose OK.

  8. Choose Save.

  9. Choose Permissions, and replace the Everyone permission with the following enterprise workspaces roles:

    • workspaces_access_role ( Read permissions)

    • workspaces_personal_role ( Read permissions)

  10. Choose Save.

After creating the index, you can monitor the status of the index using the Indexing Monitor. For more information, refer to the KM documentation.
