Use

The following table lists all the roles and personas involved in enterprise workspaces, and their respective responsibilities.

Name

Description

Portal Administrator

Manages, monitors, and administers the portal from within the portal administration environment. Responsible for assigning workspace roles to users and for performing various configuration tasks.

Workspace System Administrator

Responsible for configuring, customizing, managing and monitoring the workspaces and related services

Workspace Content Administrator

Creates and configures content to be used in workspaces

Workspace Owner

By default, the user that created a workspace. A workspace can have only one owner.

Performs the following activities:

  • Reassigns ownership of a workspace to another manager

  • Closes a workspace

  • Receives automatic e-mail notifications regarding various events in the workspace lifecycle

  • Performs all activities of a manager

Workspace Manager

Performs the following activities:

  • Adds and removes workspace members

  • Reassigns member roles in a workspace

  • Views, approves or rejects membership requests

  • Adds and organizes pages and modules in the workspace

  • Uploads and edits documents in a Document List

  • Adds and removes links to a Link List

  • Edits text in a Text Pad

A workspace can have multiple managers.

Workspace Member

Views content in a shared workspace; collaborates with other members on shared applications, such as documents

Custom Content Developer

Develops, packages, and deploys custom content for use in workspaces
