Use

Mobile homepage is a predefined workspace that provides a Web-based business news aggregator and application launcher on mobile devices (iPads). The user experience of the mobile homepage is optimized for iPad 2 and 3.

Note

Mobile homepage functionality is available only when running enterprise workspaces on SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3x SP09 or higher.

The mobile homepage provides you with an aggregate view of native and Web-based applications and unstructured information (documents and feeds) from both SAP and non-SAP sources. Using the mobile homepage, you can display all relevant data, and drill-down to the required piece of information.

The mobile homepage is a private shared workspace, which means that on the tablet device it appears only in the I Manage or Member of areas of the Workspace Directory (not in the Public area). You can access the mobile homepage only on a tablet device (not on the desktop).

The mobile homepage content is preconfigured by the workspace owner or manager, and can contain one or more of the following modules:

  • Enterprise Feed: Enables you to view items in an enterprise feed that was defined by the workspace owner or manager. For example, depending on the configuration, you may be able to view items from RSS feeds, Knowledge Management (KM) Web forms and Web Page Composer articles, or your Universal Worklist tasks. Swipe through the list to view its items, and tap an item to open it for viewing.

  • Media Feed: Enables you to view images or videos in an enterprise feed that was defined by the workspace owner or manager.

  • Application Launcher: Enables you to launch native and Web applications that were defined by the workspace owner or manager. If you try to launch an application that is not installed on your device, you have the option to search for and install it, if the workspace owner or manager enabled this.

  • Document List: Enables you to access documents that were defined by the workspace owner or manager. Tap a document to open it in the device viewer.
