Accessing People ExplorerLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

After your administrator has activated People Explorer, you can access the application in the following ways:

  • (AJAX Framework Page) Use the Start of the navigation path Social Hub Next navigation step People End of the navigation path menu in the portal masthead. Choose one of the following options:

    • People Explorer - Opens the People Explorer application, which displays a list of all entities. You can search for entities, view their profiles, and explore their relationships.

    • My Profile - Displays the details of your People Explorer profile, in which you can edit information and explore your relationships.

  • (Unified Framework Page) Choose the People Explorer Profile tab to open the My Profile screen.

  • Use the NetWeaver portal search field in one of the following ways:

    • If the People Explorer search provider has been configured by the portal administrator as the default search provider, enter the required search string and click the Search icon. If the People Explorer search provider is not the default, select it from the dropdown list next to the search icon, and then enter the search string.

    • If the People Explorer suggestion provider has been configured by the portal administrator, as you enter characters, matching names appear in the search dropdown list under People. Results displayed are only for entities where the search string is contained in the profile display name, and a maximum number of 20 results can be displayed.

      Choose a name to display. The People Explorer application opens displaying the corresponding profile information.

    Note

    The People Explorer search in the NetWeaver portal works in the same way as in the People Explorer application. The query must include the first character of the searched term, and results return all matches that start with the query string.
