Use

An enterprise feed is a container that enables you to aggregate content items from different channels. A channel is a content source that provides content items (or entries). The channel types provided by SAP include: Knowledge Management (KM) News, RSS, and Universal Worklist.

You first create the enterprise feed and then you add one or more channels to it. An enterprise feed can contain multiple channels of the same type or of different types.

You can use enterprise feeds in the following scenarios:

  • In the portal, create an Enterprise Feed iView in which to display a single enterprise feed. You can add this iView to any portal role for mobile usage.

  • In enterprise workspaces, display enterprise feeds in Mobile Homepages that contain enterprise feed modules, which each display a single feed.

  • In enterprise workspaces, use the Enterprise Feed module template to create a module that displays a single feed.

Note

The Universal Worklist channel type should be used only in a personal workspace, and cannot be used in Mobile Homepages.

At runtime, enterprise feeds are displayed as follows:

Each channel is a title header, and below it you can see all the channel items.

You can scroll or swipe to see additional channels and their items.

A two-level display. The first level displays a list of channels. Choosing a channel displays the items in the channel, replacing the list of channels. You return to the channel list view by choosing the Channel List link.

It is also possible to implement a custom feed viewer and a custom channel to handle specific business logic.
