To facilitate access to the workspaces that you use, you can add and remove workspaces from the My Workspaces panel in the Workspace Directory, request membership to restricted workspaces, and manage a list of your favorite workspaces.

Procedure

Adding Workspaces to the My Workspaces Panel

By default, the Member Of list shows all of the private and restricted workspaces of which you are a member. To display a public workspace in the Member Of list, in the Status column in the Workspace Directory, choose Add.

The workspace is added to the Member Of section in the My Workspaces panel, and the status of the workspace in the Workspace Directory is changed to Added.

Requesting Membership

Some workspaces are restricted – you can see them listed in the Workspace Directory, but you need to request membership to open the workspace.

  1. In the Workspace Directory, in the Status column, choose Join.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, describe why you are requesting to join the workspace.

  3. Choose Request to Join.

The system sends an e-mail to the workspace owner and managers with the details of your request. The workspace appears in the My Pending Requests section of the My Workspaces panel.

After the workspace owner approves your request, the workspace appears in the Member Of section, and in the I Manage section if you are added as a manager.

You cannot request membership for private workspaces. You must be invited to join a private workspace by a workspace manager or owner.

Managing Favorite Workspaces

You can save a list of your favorite workspaces, or the workspaces with which you work most often, in order to access them more quickly.

  1. In the My Workspaces panel, open the I Manage or Member Of list.

  2. Next to the workspace that you want to add to your list of favorites, choose Add to favorites (Add to favorites).

The workspace appears in the My Favorites list.

  3. To remove the workspace from your list of favorites, choose Remove from favorites (Remove from favorites).

The workspace is removed from the My Favorites list, but remains listed in the Member Of and I Manage lists, where relevant.

Removing a Workspace

You can remove workspaces from the lists in the My Workspaces panel. To remove a workspace, choose Remove (Remove). One of the following occurs:

  • If you remove a public workspace, the workspace is no longer displayed in the My Workspaces panel, but you can still access the workspace directly from the Workspace Directory. You can add the workspace to the My Workspaces panel again at any time by choosing Add in the Workspace Directory.

  • If you remove a restricted or private workspace, removing the workspace revokes your membership in the workspace. E-mail notification is sent to the workspace owner and managers.

You will no longer be able to access the workspace. To regain access to the workspace, you must request membership or be added as a member by the workspace manager.

Note Note

You cannot remove the workspace if you are the only manager or owner of the workspace.

End of the note.
