Activating Synchronous Collaboration Service Types 

Use

The Synchronous Collaboration Framework (SCF) enables the integration of synchronous collaboration services. The following synchronous collaboration service providers can be used:

●      Real Time Collaboration (RTC)

RTC is the SAP standard synchronous collaboration service provider. It provides the application sharing service

●      WebEx

WebEx is a third-party synchronous collaboration service provider. It provides the WebEx meeting center service.

Upon installation of the Collaboration capabilities – which are included in the SAP NetWeaver usage type Enterprise Portal (EP) – synchronous collaboration services are not activated. You need to activate the required service types manually as described below.

       1.      In the portal, select System Administration → System Configuration → Collaboration → Synchronous Collaboration Services → Activated Service Types.

The screen shows the service types for synchronous collaboration, which can be activated in the portal.

       2.      Activate the following service types:

○       RTC Application Sharing

○       WebEx Meeting Center

       3.      Select OK.

Result

The service types that are required for collaboration on the portal are defined.
