Making Functions for Asynchronous Collaboration Available 

Use

The Knowledge Management and Collaboration capabilities of SAP NetWeaver include functions for asynchronous collaboration. These functions allow users to exchange information asynchronously in the portal, both inside and outside of rooms.

For example, these functions include tasks, discussions, forums, attachments, feedback, quick polls, and reviews. SAP delivers most functions for asynchronous collaboration in completely configured form. There are configuration options for tasks, discussions, and forums.

Procedure

●      Make the functions for task entry and task management available. For more information, see Configuring the Universal Worklist (this documentation is part of the portal documentation and is only available in English)

●      Make discussions available for documents and folders and make discussion groups available for rooms. For more information, see Making Discussions Available.

●      Make forums available in the portal. The forums application includes functions for administration, moderation, and participation in forums. Forums are particularly suitable for community scenarios in the portal. For more information, see Making Forums Available.

●      Make wikis available in the portal. The wiki application allows portal users to create author information collaboratively using Web pages. A wiki is essentially a database for creating, browsing, and searching for information. For more information, see Configuring and Managing Wikis in the Portal.
