Working with a Change List
A change list is a user-specific list of new or changed objects in the Enterprise Services Repository.
You use a change list to organize changes. The system allows you to create multiple change lists under the same software component version. Each time you create a new object or modify an activate object, the system prompts you to add the object to an existing change list or create a new one.
In SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, when you create a new object or modify an activate object, it enters the pending change list. You can perform the following actions on a pending change list:
Activate: Changes made to the objects in the change list are visible to other users. A new object version is created.
Reject: Undo changes made to all the objects in the change list.
You have opened the Enterprise Services Repository perspective in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. For more information, see Browsing Enterprise Services from the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
In the Changelists view, expand the Pending Changelists node.
Select the required change list and in the context menu, choose one of the following options:
Activate
Reject
When you accept or reject changes, the objects disappear from the pending change list.
To locate an object in the navigation tree of the Enterprise Service Browser, select an object in the change list and from the context menu, choose Show in Browser.
To edit a service interface or data type, select the object in the change list and from the context menu, choose Open.
If you created, modified, or deleted an existing object, it appears in the change list under the relevant software component version node.
When you activate a new, modified, or deleted object, it disappears from the change list.
However, when you reject changes for:
A new object, it disappears from the change list.
A modified object, it disappears from the change list and the last active version of the object is restored.
A deleted object, it disappears from the change list and reappears under the relevant software component version. The last active version of the object is restored.
