Working with Translator Teams and Translator Groups 
Translator teams are used to organize translators who will work together on a project. By using teams, you can create translation coordinators who are also assigned to teams and who have the authorization for administrative tasks related to their own team only. Using translator teams ensures that collection assignment details remain private to each specific translator team.
Translator groups are used for performance monitoring in transaction TPMO. For example, if you work with external translation agencies and calculate your line-based billing data using the performance monitor, you would create a translator group and assign all translators belonging to the same agency to that group. This ensures that sensitive billing information remains private to that agency.
Note
Using translator teams and groups is entirely optional. We only recommend that you use translator teams and translator groups if you are using external agencies for your translation work.
You are defined as a coordinator for all languages **** in transaction LXE_MASTER.
If you want to create or change translator teams, your translator profile must include the authorization object USTE with value 01.
If you want to create or change translator groups, your translator profile must include the authorization object USTG with value 01.
Call transaction LXE_MASTER.
To create a translator team, choose . To create a translator group, choose .
Enter a 2 digit abbreviation and a description of the translator team or group that you want to create.
Note
When creating a translator team and a translator group for a translation agency, for the sake of consistency it makes sense for you to use the same 2–digit abbreviation and description for both the translator team and the translator group.
Choose
(Save).
The translator team and translator group are created and can now be assigned to a translator. To assign a translator team or translator group to a translator, proceed as follows:
Call transaction LXE_MASTER.
On the
(Translators) tab page, select
(Maintain Translators)
.
Select the target language of the translator you want to assign to a translator team and translator group.
The Maintain Translators dialog box appears.
To maintain the translator team or translator group information for an individual translator, enter the same 2–digit abbreviation for the translator team or translator group in the Team and Translation Group columns.
To maintain the translator team or translator group information for multiple translators at the same time, select the translators in the list for which you want to maintain the translator team or translator group information and then select either the Team or Group pushbuttons at the bottom of the dialog box. The relevant dialog box then appears and you can select the appropriate translator team/group.
Choose
(Save).
