Deleting Update Records
Update records with the status Error can be deleted.
You should only delete canceled updates:
After you have completed the update error analysis. Remember that when update servers are started, they always search for updates that are older than 30 days and delete these. If you have not completed your analysis, you can prevent automatic deletion by increasing the value of the system profile parameter rdisp/vbdelete.
If you are sure that the data in the update can be restored, for example, if the update originates from a batch input session (symbol
(Created from Batch Input)), and can be repeated there, or if you have retrieved data from the canceled update so that you can enter it again.
In the update request overview select the update requests you want to delete.
Choose
(Delete Record) or .
Caution
Never delete updates that have not yet been processed (status on a green background) as this can result in data that is to entered in the SAP System being lost.
The function for deleting updates automatically after they have been successfully completed can be deactivated in order to prevent the system constantly deleting small numbers of update records (extremely high number of database accesses).
The consequence of turning off automatic deletion is that the update tables in the database can become very large. To remove updates, you must run report RSM13002 at least once daily with the option DELETE set to X. RSM13002 deletes only successfully completed updates.
The update record(s) is/are deleted, the data is lost and has to be reentered. Delete also deletes any locks on database objects that are being held for the update.
