Procedure documentationCreating a Software Component Version Locate this document in the navigation structure

 

You use this procedure to create a software component version (swcv), so that later when you create design and development objects in this swcv, you can uniquely identify them with a logical grouping associated with this swcv. Software components represent the reusable modules of a product.

Prerequisites

You have the SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE role or SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE role.

Procedure

  1. From the context menu of any existing software component version, select   New   Software Component Version  .

  2. In the New Software Component Version wizard, choose the type of software component version according to the table below:

    Types

    Description

    Local Software Component Version

    If you want to create objects locally, for example, for test purposes.

    SLD-Based Software Component Version

    If you want to import the software component version into the Enterprise Services Repository from System Landscape Directory (SLD).

  3. Specify a software component version.

  4. Select the original language from the drop down.

  5. Choose Finish.
