SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe is a joint solution by SAP and Adobe that provides form creation and manipulation capabilities. The solution is tightly integrated into the SAP design-time and run-time environments. It enables form-based processing of business data and can be used in various different application development environments. You can define forms in an SAP system in the following ways:

In the Form Builder or ABAP Workbench either as output forms for printing, archiving, or sending by e-mail or as
interactive offline forms for sending by e-mail (for example, offline entry of electricity meter reading in a form which is received by e-mail and returned once completed)

In a Web Dynpro development environment (Web Dynpro ABAP and Web Dynpro Java) as interactive online forms (for example, display, entry and correction of customer data in system)
Form templates whose layout was designed using Adobe LiveCycle Designer are processed by Adobe Document Services (ADS) installed in the SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java.
