Monitoring Contexts of the CCMS Agents in the Monitoring SystemLocate this document in the navigation structure

Caution

CCMS agents are no longer required for purely SAP NetWeaver 7.1 landscapes; their functions are performed by SAP NetWeaver Management Agents. For information about when you still require CCMS agents for SAP NetWeaver 7.1, see CCMS Agents: Central Monitoring for Components up to SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

Depending on the CCMS agent, you can find the monitoring contexts in different places in the central monitoring system:

  • SAPCCM4X

As the SAP instance was already integrated into the central monitoring system before you installed the CCMS agent, the installation of the CCMS has no visible effect. However, the system now first attempts to use the CCMS agent to access data from the SAP instance. If you have activated the push technology of the CCMS agent, this method of data retrieval is better from a performance point of view.

  • SAPCM3X

The central monitoring system creates a monitoring segment SAP_CCMS_< hostname >_local. This segment has the contexts:

    • <Hostname>
    • 3x_<hostname>_<SID>_<system_number>
    • Files_of_<hostname>_local
    • MoniInfra_<hostname>_local

You can view these new contexts, for example, directly in the monitor set SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors in the monitor All Monitoring Contexts.

  • SAPCCMSR

The central monitoring system creates a monitoring segment SAP_CCMS_<Hostname>. By default, this segment has the contexts:

    • <Hostname>
    • Files_of_<Hostname>
    • MoniInfra_<Hostname>

If you also include additional monitoring functions using plug-ins, the monitoring segment contains additional contexts. You can view all of these contexts, for example, directly in the monitor set SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors and in the monitor All Monitoring Contexts.

  • SAPCCMSR -j2ee

The Java monitoring data is displayed in the monitor set SAP J2EE Monitor Templates, sorted by topic areas.
