Application Types: Advanced (Optional) ParametersLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

In addition to mandatory parameters, you can also define the following optional parameters for an application in a launchpad.

Note that not all of the following parameters are available for all application types.

On the Change Launchpad Role screen, choose an application and choose the Show Advanced Parameters button to display the following advanced (optional) parameters:

  • Application Cannot be Removed from the Launchpad

Select this parameter if you want to prohibit the user from removing this application.

Refers only to the Stand-Alone launchpad type at runtime.

  • Application-Related Parameters

    • Application Alias

A string that is used to identify an application in the Floorplan Manager (FPM) environment.

    • Target Application Parameters

Parameters that are forwarded to the application.

You can add the parameter(s) by choosing either the Parameter Mapping button (if visible) or the standard editor button.

For information on parameter mapping for the individual application types, see the system documentation.

    • Icon Path

      Navigation path to an icon.

    • Proxy Class

A class name that can be used to get a connection, for example, to the Home and Area Page Framework.

The class name is available in some feeder classes and also in the FPM IF_FPM_NAVIGATION interface.

    • Additional Information

For key value pairs, for example, key1=value1&key2=value2&...

The string is not interpreted by the launchpad itself; it only forwards it to various feeder classes and BAdIs. It is also available in the FPM IF_FPM_NAVIGATION interface (table mt_targets-add_info_params).

  • Entries Following Start of Application

    • Without Predefinition

Personalization data is not forwarded automatically to the application.

    • Using Personalization

Depending on the settings in the personalization dialog box, personalized data is forwarded to the application.

For this option, you must also enter the name of the personalization dialog box.

  • Portal Parameters

    • Navigation Mode

Various options are available for displaying the target application. For example, you can display it in the current window or a new window or even a Portal window and with or without a header.

    • Window Features

Enter a comma-separated list of JavaScript parameters to specify window properties, for example: statusbar=yes, toolbar=yes. If you leave this field empty, the new window opens according to default JavaScript parameters. For more information, see the system documentation.

    • History Mode

This is available only in the Portal environment. You can specify if the launchpad application that you navigate to at runtime is visible under the History dropdown list in the Portal.

      • Navigation entry can occur multiple times in history

      • Navigation entry can occur once in history

      • No Navigation entry in history

    • Parameter Forwarding:

Use GET or POST method of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (http).

      • GET

The parameters are forwarded by using a query string. There is a restriction of the length of the query string. (Often 1024 characters)

      • POST

The parameter are forwarded in the message body.

Note

Further optional parameters, specific to the application type, are also available. For more information, see the documentation on the individual application types.
