Transport OrganizerLocate this document in the navigation structure

The Transport Organizer in the ABAP Development Tools for SAP NetWeaver (ADT) contains the basic transport functions of the SAP GUI-based Transport Organizer.

The key feature of the Transport Organizer is displaying the assignment of objects to the tasks and transport requests in a folder structure. The display depends on the logged-on user. For example, you can display the most important information relating to the transport of change requests of a particular user without leaving the development environment. Advanced functions can be executed in the SAP GUI- based Transport Organizer.

The Transport Organizer view displays the following columns:

  • Transport Request: Project-specific folder structure:
    • Folder Workbench: User interface to display transport requests of the SAP GUI- based Workbench that have recorded changes made to ABAP objects. Only here can you open and edit modifiable transport requests, create and delete tasks, as well as edit ABAP objects.
    • Folder Customizing: User interface to display modifiable and released transport requests of the customer-specific development activities. Customer-specific changes are recorded in customizing requests.
    • NOTE: These main folders contain the subfolders Modifiable and Released. The subfolder Modifiable displays the unreleased transport requests and tasks that can be edited in addition to the objects that have been released. The subfolder Released contains all transport requests, tasks, and objects that have been released within the last 2 weeks. Released content cannot be edited.
    • NOTE: Objects that are assigned directly to a transport request as well as tasks and the corresponding objects that are already released are displayed at the same folder level as unreleased tasks.
  • Owner: Display of the user who is assigned to the corresponding transport requests and tasks.
  • Type: Display of the type of ABAP objects in the transport request or task.
