Creating an Example-Based Taxonomy Using a Folder Hierarchy
You want to create an example-based taxonomy based on an existing folder hierarchy.
Create an index.
You need to create an index before you can create an example-based taxonomy. You do this in the Index Administration iView in the KM Admin workset.
Train the taxonomy using an existing folder hierarchy.
When creating an example-based taxonomy, you train the categories of your new taxonomy using example documents. Afterwards, the system can classify documents that are similar to the example documents into the categories of your taxonomy.
You can train the taxonomy automatically using an existing folder hierarchy. This process copies documents already contained in the folders into the new taxonomy and uses them as example documents to train the taxonomy. To carry out this process, choose the automatic training option in index administration.
Optional: Assign further data sources to the index.
You can also assign further data sources to the index.
When you have created an example-based taxonomy, you can begin the example-based classification of documents. For more information, see Classifying Documents.
