Switching between Inactive and Active Versions of a Source-based ObjectLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have made changes in the source code and saved them.

Context

In SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP8 and higher, you can toggle between the inactive and active version of any source-based objects such as classes, function modules, or ABAP programs. This functionality enables you to read the inactive version that is saved by another user and not available in your working area.

Procedure

  1. In the source code editor, open the corresponding development object.
  2. In the context menu, choose Switch to active/inactive version or select Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Switch to active/inactive version End of the navigation path from the menu.
  3. [Optional:] Repeat step 2 to switch back to the opposite version.

Results

In the source code editor, the inactive or active version of a development object is displayed.

Note

In the tab of the current source code editor, the status of a development object is indicated by a decorator. Inactive development objects are highlighted with a .
