Use

SAP NetWeaver Gateway uses the secure storage component of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP (AS ABAP). The secure storage component allows the encrypted storage of sensitive data that SAP NetWeaver Gateway requires when logging on to other SAP systems.

The database in AS ABAP stores passwords for the following:

  • RFC destinations

  • CCMS (Generic Request and Message Generator)

  • Data deployed for the SAP NetWeaver Gateway components and default content

  • Content of reports for scheduled and monitored activities

  • Data for roles and users
