Alert Monitoring with CCMSLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

SAP NetWeaver Gateway Framework is monitored automatically within the Computing Center Management System (CCMS) in SAP CCMS Monitors for Optional Components for SAP NetWeaver Gateway.

In the monitoring process, information is collected about SAP NetWeaver Gateway Foundation, and this information can be viewed in transaction RZ20. Here you can see which applications are in use, and how often they are called up. The information is updated hourly and relates to today's date, since on the first collection after midnight all values are initialized once they have been read out.

Note

All the nodes mentioned here may not appear immediately; they appear when the first alert is created by an agent.

You can find the following information:

  • SAP NetWeaver Gateway Framework

  • SAP NetWeaver Gateway Applications

    This node provides CCMS monitoring alerts for SAP NetWeaver Gateway applications (reporting or workflow, for example) which can be used by any consumer applications of SAP NetWeaver Gateway. If alerts exist, the corresponding sub-nodes are available, Reporting and Workflow, for example.

General Components Monitor

This monitor can have at maximum the following structure:

  1. Backend Adaption Layer

  2. Backend Connectivity

  3. bgRFC Configuration

  4. Common Services

  5. Consumer Adaption Layer

  6. Interface Layer

  7. Consumer Connectivity

Handling Alerts

To view the alerts for a particular component, select the component, choose Open alerts and double-click on the Messages node. The list of alerts is displayed.

Alerts are always stored in the Messages node of an agent.

Double-click on the Messages node to open the alert list.

To view the details of an alert, that is, the long text eventually provided for an alert, select an alert row and choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Alert description End of the navigation path. The long text for the alert is displayed.

Double-click on an alert to open the Application Log protocol for the alert.

Prerequisites

If you have declared one system as the central monitoring system in your system landscape, the SAP NetWeaver Gateway framework and applications are monitored automatically in CCMS. In this system all monitoring information within your system landscape is collected and displayed. See also Configuring a Central Monitoring System (CEN).
