Determining which objects can be selected

You can specify which graphics objects can be selected by choosing Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Select (Objects) End of the navigation path.

The default setting is for all object types to be selectable:

  • Nodes (entity types, specialization categories)

  • Links (relationships, specializations)

  • Frames (data models)

Determining the selection type

You can specify the selection type by choosing Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Select (type) End of the navigation path: With border, inverted, pick-marked, with color.

Select an object

Click the object with the left mouse button.

To select/deselect multiple objects

Holding the SHIFT button pressed down, click the objects one after another with the left mouse button.

To select all objects in the graphic

Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Select Next navigation step Select All End of the navigation path.

To select the environment; that is, the direct predecessors and successors of an object (linked by relationship or generalization/specialization) and the object itself are to be selected

First select the object or objects for which you want to select the environment. Then select Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Select Next navigation step Select Environment End of the navigation path.

To select the complement (the complement set of the previously selected entity types is selected)

First select the objects for which the complement is to be selected. Then select Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Select Next navigation step Select Complement End of the navigation path.

To deselect all objects

Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Select Next navigation step Deselect All End of the navigation path. Alternatively, you can click a 'free area' outside all the models.
