Example documentationExample: Differentiated Inheritance Setting in the Fileplan Locate this document in the navigation structure

You want to prevent inheritance of authorization settings between classes for the attribute Authorization Level. The authorization level should be passed on from the classes to the folders and from the folders to the lower-level nodes.

The following graphic illustrates this:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Figure: Differentiated Inheritance of Authorization Level

You must have made the following settings for classes and folders:

  1. Setting for fileplan item

In the IMG activity Edit Attributes for a Content Model (Document Model Workbench) in the model object for classes, you define that

    • the attribute values of the authorization level are passed onto lower-level nodes. You have set the attribute characteristic RMPS_PASS_TO_SUBORD = X for the IO attribute RMPS_SECURE_LEVEL.

    • the attribute values of the authorization level are not inherited from higher-level classes You have set the additional attribute characteristic RMPS_INHERITED = <blank value> for the IO attribute RMPS_SECURE_LEVEL.

  2. Setting for records

In the IMG activity Enhance Attribute Profile, you define the following for the attribute profile of the folder:

    • the value of the case attribute SECURE_LEVEL is inherited from higher-level nodes. The indicator Inherit is set.

    • the value of the case attribute SECURE_LEVEL is passed on to lower-level nodes. The indicator Pass on is set.
