Displaying/Editing Application ComponentsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can display or edit informationon on an Application Component .

Prerequisites

A Process Integration scenario is open ( Process Integration Scenario Editor ). This contains at least one application component.

You have the following options to call the editor to Display/Edit Application Components :

  • Double-click the application component.

  • Position the cursor over the application component and choose Display/Edit Application Component in the context menu.

If the application component is assigned an Integration Process , you can either open the application component or open the integration process directly.

The Display/Edit Application Components editor is structured in the following way:

Application Component Type Framework

This area displays (using a selection button) what application component type you are dealing with. This can either be a Product Version , a Main Instance , or a Template (see Application Component ).

The following information is also displayed:

  • Communication type

    If you want to map a cross-company process with the Process Integration scenario, you can represent an external business partner with an application component by typing the application component as an External Partner with B2B Communication (short: B2B Component ).

    When configuring the Process Integration scenario in the Integration Directory, communication mode B2B Communication is taken into consideration when generating the communication agreements.

    Caution

    It is not possible to assign an Integration Process to an application component with communication mode External Partner eith B2B Communication .

  • Related Software Component Versions

    The information displayed in this area depends on the application component type:

    • The software component version assigned to the product version is displayed for product versions or main instances.

    • The software component version that the Process Integration scenario is assigned to is displayed for templates.

The following information is displayed on the other tab pages:

Role Tab Page

The role consists of a technical name and a description.

Caution

The technical name must be unique in the Process Integration scenario.

Integration Process Tab Page

If the application component is assigned an Integration Process , then the name of this Integration Process is shown on this tab page.

Caution

It is only possible to assign Integration Processes from the software component version to the application component.

Other Attributes Tab Page

WSCI Name and an Enhanced Name belong to the other attributes. You are not able to enter any information in the Enhanced Name field for application component type Main Instance . In this case, the title of the main instance is shown as the enhanced name.
