Procedure documentationCreating a Custom Entity Definition Locate this document in the navigation structure

 

You use this procedure to define your own entity type in ES Repository, if the SAP-delivered entities do not suit your needs.

Procedure

  1. In the Metamodel Explorer view, from the context menu of any interface object, choose   New   Entity Definition  .

  2. In the New Entity Definition dialog, enter the following details:

    • Name

    • Type ID

  3. Choose Finish.

  4. If you want to assign an icon to the entity, in the General section, choose Browse.

    Note Note

    Maximum size of the image supported is 32x32 pixels.

  5. In the Behavior section, enter the plural of the entity definition name.

    Note Note

    This name is used as a placeholder under which the entity objects reside in the Enterprise Service Browser.

  6. To assign custom attributes to this entity definition, proceed as follows:

    1. Choose Add.

    2. In the Select Attribute Definition window, select the required custom attribute definition.

    3. If you want to create a new attribute definition, choose Create Attribute definition and follow the instructions in the wizard.

    4. Choose Finish.

More Information

All Custom Entities whose Custom Entity Definitions are either deleted from the system or are not present in the currently configured software component version (Value of property com.sap.aii.ibrep.server.mme.swcv) are called Orphaned Custom Entities.

These orphaned custom entities are listed under the node Orphaned Custom Entities in the Enterprise Services Browser view.
