Use

You can display the operating system log and hardware information for monitored hosts in the operating system monitor. The corresponding information is collected by the Operating System Collector SAPOSCOL; the precise scope and the format of the relevant information depend on the host's platform.

Procedure
  1. Call the operating system monitor (more information: Operating System Monitor.)
  2. Choose the desired host for which you want to display hardware information or the operating system log; more information about selecting the host: Selecting Operating System Data of Systems, Instances, and Hosts.
  3. If you want to display hardware information for a host, choose the entry  Additional Functions →  Hardware Information from the navigation bar.

The system displays a detailed list containing information about the host's hardware (processors, storage space, disks, network, and so on) and about its operating system and installed software.

  4. If you want to display the operating system log for a host, choose the entry  Additional Functions →  Operating System Log from the navigation bar.

The system displays a list of messages from the operating system log. On Microsoft Windows platforms, this is the Windows Event Log, on UNIX platforms, this is the system log syslog.log.
