Service Users
A number of global services and repository services need to perform operations on resources in various repositories. For example, the index management service must read all resources it is meant to index.
To be able to perform the required operations, the services use service users. These service users must be defined as CM system principals with appropriate permissions. They must also be defined in portal user management.
The following CM services require a service user:
· Time-dependent publishing service
· Collaboration services (except the rating service)

The service user collaboration_service, which is used by the collaboration services, does not need to be specified as a system principal, but must still be defined in portal user management.

Like other users, the service users must also be defined in portal user management.
