Use this log perspective to view logs and traces on your SAP NetWeaver system. These logs records are generally addressed to system administrators and customers.

Procedure

  1. Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

  2. Go to    Troubleshooting   Logs and Traces   Log Viewer  .

  3. Choose    View   Open View   and then choose from the following ones:

    Predefined View

    Description

    SAP Logs

    Shows list formatted log records from all log files (except for defaultTrace.trc) on the relevant system.

    System Logs and Traces

    Shows all the log and trace records, including those from defaulTrace.trc file.

    Developer Traces

    Shows all trace records written in defaultTrace.trc file.

    Unstructured Log Files

    Shows all text formatted log records on the relevant system. Text formatted logs are not merged in a table.

    Change Log

    Shows logs giving information about all configuration changes manually made in the AS Java. This logs are stored in a separated log file directory <SAP _install_dir>\<system_name>\<instance_name>\j2ee\cluster\change\log.

    Uploaded Log Files

    Shows all external logs uploaded by SAP NetWeaver users.

    HTTP Response

    Shows text formatted log records written in the responses.trc file. These traces are related to the process of accepting a response from the HTTP page that is called.

    Authentication Logs

    Shows all logs that give information about logging activities of users on the relevant system. The default filter by content is set as follows: Category contains /System/Security/Authentication.

    Security Log

    Shows all log written in security* files.

  4. From Display Log File, you can find all the files containing logs for the selected general view.

  5. Choose Show Advanced Filter to set a filter criterion.

    You can apply various types of filtering log records for these views.
