You can use any predefined view as a template for your custom view.

You can also export the settings of a custom view to an XML file. If needed, you can then send the XML file to another user who can import it and save it as his/her own custom view.

Prerequisites

Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator and choose   Troubleshooting   Logs and Traces   Log Viewer  .

Procedure

Creating Custom Views

You can choose from the following methods:

I. Create using a predefined view

  1. From View, select Open View, and then choose a log view to be a template for your custom one.

    You can also use the Expert view for this purpose.

  2. To set filter criteria, choose Show Advanced Filter.

  3. Optional: Customize the columns to be displayed in your custom view.

  4. From View, choose Save View As.

II. Create without using a predefined view

  1. Choose   View   Open View   <Create New View>  .

    A merged list (table) of all the logs from your SAP NetWeaver system appears.

  2. To set filter criteria, choose Show Advanced Filter.

  3. Optional: Customize the columns to be displayed in your custom view.

  4. Choose   View   Save View  .

Exporting Custom Views
  1. Open the log view you want to export.

  2. Go to View and choose Export View.

  3. Choose the Export View link.

  4. Open or save it as an XML file on your file system.

Importing Custom Views
  1. From View, choose Import View.

  2. Browse to the Log Viewer XML file you want to import.

    The imported view is displayed.

  3. You can save the imported view as your own.
