To start the archiving and deleting wizard, open the Administration workset and choose Archiving and Deleting → Start Archiving from the contextual panel.

In the procedures that follow, choose:
- Previous, if you need to go back to the previous step and modify your settings
- Next, if you want to continue to the next step and specify further options
- Execute, if you want to start archiving and deleting with the current settings
Archiving and Deleting by Predefined Process Template Settings
- Under Start immediately archiving or deleting of completed process instances by, selectPredefined process template settings and choose Next.
- In the list on the screen you can see all process instances that qualify for archiving or deleting based on the settings made inArchiving and Deleting → Maintain Process Templates.
- To filter records based on their completion status, you can:
- Set one or more of the following indicators:
- Display Completed
- Display Erroneous
- Display Terminated
- Choose Filter.
- To remove process instances from the list, select an instance and choose Remove.
- To add process instances to the list, choose Add to browse for available instances.
- Choose Execute.
- The system notifies you for any instances that cannot be processed.
- You can repeat the wizard by choosing Start Over.
Archiving and Deleting Ignoring Assigned Settings
- Under Start immediately archiving or deleting of completed process instances by, select Ignoring assigned settings and chooseNext.
- Select the type of operation you want to perform (Archive or Delete)
- Assemble a list of process instances by selecting:
- All - to view all process instances available
- Completed Before - enter a date to view all process instances completed before it
- Choose Next.
- To filter instances, select the templates to which they belong:
- All - all process templates
- Select - browse for process templates in a list of all available templates in your system
- Choose Next.
- You can filter instances as described in step 3 of the previous section.
- From the available instances list, add process instances for archiving or deleting by choosing Add. You can also remove instances with Remove.
- Continue with step 6 of the previous section.
