You can perform most standard Portal Catalog operations on Web resources stored in the Web Resource Repository, for example, you can view, update, and delete all resources and folders.

However, following are some differences when working with Web Resources objects in the Portal Catalog:

  • When you copy resources and resource folders from one location to another, you can copy them only as a standard object copy and not a delta link copy

  • Resource objects do not have a Title property, only a File Name property (which is displayed in the Portal Catalog)

  • The option to change the ID prefix is only available for a specific folder, and not for the objects contained in the folder

  • If you change the hierarchy of resources, rename folders, or delete resources or folders in the Portal Catalog, the changes are made in the PCD; the resources and folders that were copied to the file system during the upload process are not modified.
