Calling BEx Broadcaster 

Use

You can call BEx Broadcaster from various Business Explorer components to distribute BEx objects.

From a technical viewpoint, BEx Broadcaster and Broadcasting Wizard are the Broadcaster Web item that is embedded in an otherwise empty Web application. This Web application (0BROADCASTING_TEMPLATE) is entered as the Standard Web Template for Broadcasting in Customizing. Your system administrator can also specify another Web template as the Standard Web Template for Broadcasting, such as a template with your company logo.

Depending on how you call BEx Broadcaster, the Web item is displayed either as a BEx Broadcaster or as a Broadcasting Wizard.

Procedure

You can call BEx Broadcaster from the following Business Explorer components:

BEx Query Designer

In the Query Designer toolbar, choose Query → Publish → BEx Broadcaster. BEx Broadcaster displays a list of the available broadcast settings for the query that you edited in Query Designer.

BEx Report Designer

In the Report Designer toolbar, choose Report → Publish → BEx Broadcaster. BEx Broadcaster displays a list of the available broadcast settings for the report that you edited in Report Designer.

BEx Web Application Designer

In the Web Application Designer toolbar, choose Web Template → Publish → BEx Broadcaster. BEx Broadcaster displays a list of the available broadcast settings for the Web application that you edited in Web Application Designer.

BEx Analyzer

In the BEx Analyzer analysis toolbar, choose Tools → Broadcaster. BEx Broadcaster displays a list of the available broadcast settings for the workbook that you edited in BEx Analyzer.

The Tools → Broadcaster option is only visible when a workbook is open. If you only open a query in BEx Analyzer, this broadcasting option is not available.

BEx Web Application

The Web application contains at least one Web item for which you can use a context menu. In the context menu, choose Broadcast and Export→ Broadcast E-Mail, Broadcast to Portal, or Broadcast to Printer. The Broadcasting Wizard for distributing this Web application appears.

BEx Web Analyzer

In BEx Web Analyzer, you can broadcast using the following options:

●      In the context menu for the table, choose Broadcast and Export → Broadcast E-Mail, Broadcast to Portal, or Broadcast to Printer.

●      To send by e-mail, choose Send.

The Broadcasting Wizard appears for distributing the query or query view from BEx Web Analyzer.

Information Consumer Pattern

The Send pushbutton used to broadcast by e-mail can be included in the Information Consumer Pattern using the Broadcasting Wizard.

Standard Web Template for Reports

In an executed report, you can call the Broadcasting Wizard using the Send pushbutton and broadcast the report by e-mail.
