Executing the test configuration or test package with start profile test procedure parameters is the last of three steps that enable you to use start profile test procedure parameters.

Procedure

You can start the test procedure from the test configuration or the test package.

Starting from the Test Configuration
  1. Call transaction SECATT and choose Test Configuration.

  2. Enter the name of the test configuration to be executed in the field of the same name, and choose Execute.

The start option dialog opens, where you can maintain the runtime settings.

  3. Select the Start Profile - Data for Test Procedure tab.

If this tab is not visible, this means that no start profile is assigned to the test configuration. You can assign a start profile directly from the start options by choosing the Load Start Profile icon from the toolbar. The Start Profile - Data for Test Procedure tab is displayed. On this tab, you can specify other runtime values for the connected start profile in the Parameter Value column.

  4. Execute the test configuration.

Starting from the Test Package
  1. Call transaction STWB_2 (test plan management) and select the test plan.

  2. Choose Test Packages.

The list of test packages created in this test plan is displayed.

  3. Select the test package to be executed and, in the menu bar, choose   Goto   Automatic Test   Execute Immediately  .

The start option dialog opens, where you can maintain the runtime settings.

  4. The procedure in this step depends on whether the test package contains one or more test configurations:

    • If there is only one test configuration, the suitable start profile is loaded automatically. Therefore, the Start Profile - Data for Test Procedure tab is visible immediately. Select the tab and, if required, specify other runtime values for the connected start profile in the Parameter Value column.

    • If the package contains multiple test configurations, the Start Profile - Data for Test Procedure tab is not immediately visible. You have to assign the required start profile first. Therefore, assign a start profile from the start options by choosing the Load Start Profile icon from the toolbar. Then select the Start Profile - Data for Test Procedure tab and, if required, specify other runtime values for the connected start profile in the Parameter Value column.

  5. Execute the test package.

Result

You have executed a test procedure with test procedure parameters from the start profile. You can view details of the procedure in the relevant log.
