Procedure documentationConnecting to the Integration Directory Locate this document in the navigation structure

You use this procedure to establish a connection with the Integration Directory.

You can connect to the Integration Directory and the ES Repository using the PI Tools user interface. The Integration Directory and the ES Repository can either exist on the same server or on different servers.

Recommendation Recommendation

In case of ES Repository and Integration Directory residing in different servers, it is recommended to have the same credentials for the Integration Directory server and the ES Repository server.

End of the recommendation.
Handling the connection protocol when the ES Repository and Integration Directory reside on different servers
  • The connection protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) that you have configured to connect to the Integration Directory also applies while you are connecting to the ES Repository.

  • If the Integration Directory is configured with secure connection (HTTPS), connecting to ES Repository is automatically using HTTPS. But if the ES Repository server is enabled with only HTTP, then the connection fails.

  • If you want to allow unsecured connection to ES Repository while using secure connection for the Integration Directory, deselect the option Do not connect using HTTP if HTTPS is unavailable in the Personalize page under Preferences.
