Binding Definitions to Workflow Container
You can define bindings from the workflow container to the following containers:
Task container
Rule Container
Event container
This binding can be defined for step types that refer to a task.
The workflow system proposes this binding definition. If new elements are required in the workflow container, proposals are also made for these. You can edit and confirm these proposals or reject them. For information, see Rule-Based Proposal for Binding Definitions.
If an object is edited in the task that is referred to in the step, this object reference must be transferred using a binding. Define a binding from the element in the workflow container with the reference to the object to be processed, to the element _WI_Object_ID in the task container.
Note
The workflow system automatically creates this binding definition if the following condition is met:
The workflow container contains exactly one element that refers to the same object type that is also edited in the task of the step.
If no element with an appropriate data type reference is available in the workflow container, a suitable element is added to the workflow container and the binding entered.
This binding definition is only possible for the step type event creator.
Note
The binding definition to the event container is not necessary if the latter only contains the standard event parameters. These standard event parameters are assigned values automatically from the information you specify when defining the event creator.
The binding definition to the event container is necessary if the latter contains elements other than the standard event parameters.
This binding is only necessary if you use a rule for determining the agent or recipient, or if you use Webflow rules for a web activity.
Depending on the type of the rule for agent determination, you need to transfer the following data:
Rule type |
What is transferred in the binding? |
|---|---|
Responsibilities |
Responsibilities Container elements that are used for the responsibility check |
Organizational Data |
Attribute of the business object that refers to the organizational object |
Function module |
Container elements that are used as import parameters for the function module |
