Planning Engine

With the Analytic Engine, the BW system provides extensive reporting and planning functionalities. The Planning Engine allows you to create planning applications. The scope of these applications can range from simple manual data entry through to complex planning scenarios.

The following graphic provides an overview of the possible deployment scenarios: You can use the BW System either on a known - but not in-memory optimized - database (with an optional SAP NetWeaver BWA) or on the SAP HANA database. For the latter case, there are two scenarios: The read accesses are performed either in-memory optimized or with planning-specific core functionalities as part of "deep integration".
