The SAP Management Console (SAP MC) includes context menus that offer a number of useful functions. The context menus enable you to start, stop, and restart individual processes, instances, or the whole system. The context menus differ depending on the item that is selected in the navigation pane. The following table explains some of the main context menu options:

Add Application Server Discover Instances |
Displays all instances of the selected SAP system. |
Remove |

Restarts the selected instance. |
Show Version Information |
Displays version information about the most important executables. |
Show Environment Information |
Displays system environment information. |
Restart Service |
Restarts the sapstartsrv service of a selected SAP instance. |
Show Profile Parameters |
Displays all profile parameters of the selected instance. |
Show Start Profile |
Displays the start profile. |
Show Trace File |
Displays the sapstartsrv service trace files. |
List Developer Traces |
Lists all developer trace files of the selected instance. |
Analyze Log Files |
Displays log records filtered by severity, time, and number of entries. |
Show Developer Trace |
Displays the developer trace files of the selected process. |
Increment/Decrement Trace Level |
Increases/decreases the developer trace level of the selected process. |
Shutdown |
Stops the selected process (signal INT.) |
Kill |
Kills the selected process (signal KILL.) |
Telnet |
Opens a Telnet session for the AS Java. |
Start/Stop Process |
Starts/stops an AS Java process. |
Enable/Disable/Restart Process |
Enables/disables/restarts an AS Java process. |
Enable/Disable Debug |
Enables/disables Java VM debugging for the server processes. |
Dump Stack |
Dumps the Java stack trace for the selected server process. |
Create Snapshot |
Creates a system snapshot. |
Connect to ... |
Connects to the computer in which the instance is running (SSH (Secure Shell) or Telnet). |
Export |
Exports the result pane data in a file as tab separated value. |
