A filter enables you to start, stop, or disable services, libraries and applications. You can add filters and also edit or delete already created filters.

If you set action filters on configuration template level, the filters apply to all instances. If you set filters for a particular instance, only this instance will have the filters applied.

Procedure

  1. Start the Config Tool by double-clicking the configtool script file in <SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee/configtool directory.

  2. Choose   View   Expert Mode  .

  3. Choose the configuration template or the relevant instance, for which you want to add filters.

  4. Select Filters.

    A table of default actions for particular components is displayed.

  5. In Custom rules pane, select what action should be performed: start, stop, or disable.

  6. Select the type of component: service, library, application, or all components.

  7. From Vendor Mask, enter the vendor of the component.

  8. From Component Name Mask, enter the name of the component. Part of the name is a valid string.

    Note Note

    You can use the asterisk sign (*) to replace part of the name or the question mark (?) to replace a single letter.

  9. Choose Add.

    The action is added to the Custom rules table.

  10. In the table with custom actions, select the added entry and choose Set.

  11. Choose Apply Changes (Apply Changes).
