Procedure documentationActivating ICF Services for the Help Center Locate this document in the navigation structure

 

This activity is necessary if you want to use the Help Center for Web Dynpro ABAP applications in the portal.

For security reasons, all services of the Internet Communication Framework are inactive following installation of the SAP Web Application Server ABAP. You have to activate the required services manually.

Procedure

  1. Launch transaction SICF in the SAP system.

  2. Make sure that the hierarchy type SERVICE is set and choose Execute.

  1. Under Virtual Hosts/Services, open the structure   default_host   sap  .

  2. Activate the services for Web Dynpro ABAP applications.

    The services are listed at the link below. To activate a service, choose Activate Service in its context menu.

Activating Services for the Help Center Application
  1. Under Virtual Hosts/Services, open the structure   default_host   sap   bc   webdynpro   sap  .

  2. Navigate to the service SAPGUIHC_APPLICATION.

  3. In the context menu, choose Activate Service.

Optional: Setting a Timeout for the Help Center Application

The system has a standard timeout that terminates the Help Center application after a defined period of inactivity. If the period of inactivity permitted by the system is insufficient, you can specify a longer period.

  1. Open the service for the Help Center application (see above) in change mode.

  2. On the Service Data tab page, under Session Timeout, specify the required length of time.
