Function documentation Adapter Monitor  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use the adapter monitor to monitor individual adapters.

Integration

You have started the adapter monitor from the start page of the SAP Partner Connectivity Kit.

Features

The adapter monitor displays the following information:

·        The name of the server on which the Adapter Engine was deployed. This can be a server cluster consisting of several nodes.

·        The namespace containing the adapters shipped by SAP. If you have created additional namespaces for your own developments or for third-party adapters, these are also displayed.

·        A list of all available adapters. Adapters that are not installed and started, or not registered in the Adapter Framework, are grayed out. You can select all other adapters to display additional information.

All adapters displayed have a status in the form of a red, yellow, green, or gray traffic light. If an adapter is not registered, the traffic light is gray and no additional information can be displayed about the adapter.

Activities

If you do not want to display all adapters (default setting), you can make the following selections:

·        Only display adapters that have been installed and started.

·        Only display adapters in which an error occurred.

To display the details for a registered adapter, double-click it to select it.

A table with one or more status lines is displayed:

·        Type A adapters have a separate adapter instance for each communication channel and display one status line for each instance.

·        Type B adapters have just one adapter instance for all communication channels and only display one status line with an overall status. Depending on the adapter, additional information is displayed.

If there are several cluster nodes the table has several tab pages, because adapters can have different statuses on different nodes.

The individual statuses of the table are accumulated to give the overall status of the adapter using the following rule: If the table contains at least one status that is above all other statuses in the status hierarchy, then this is taken as the overall status of the adapter.

The following table shows the possible statuses listed in their hierarchical order from top to bottom.

If the table contains one or more error statuses, you can display just the line(s) with error status.
